All Hail Our New Cyborg Overlords!

If you will allow me for one moment...

This... this is why the British are always portrayed as the 'evil' geniuses and villains in every single film ever. Why would you even...? So the robot apocalypse will actually begin at Reading University, and not with Cyberdyne in the US or just anywhere in the teritorial boundaries of Japan.

... I wonder if our new cyborg neighbours will enjoy a nice cup of tea?

Now You're Playing With Power!

I love me some metal music, I do.

Enter Powerglove... A completely geek based metal band. Fuck and yeah.

X-Men

Sonic The Hedgehog

And the Goddamn Batman - in which the video has absolutely nothing to do with Batman and is still one of the most awesome music videos ever.

Now excuse me for a moment while I lapse into an awesome-induced coma...

What to do in a Zombie Apocolypse

Here is some brilliant advice for you Americans in the event of a zombie apocolypse

But of course here in the UK we don't have ZEMA so look instead to our brave Safety First boys. Good luck chaps...

And don't forget to join the zombie hoard that is descending upon Lancaster this coming Sunday.

I Just Post This Way...

... And come up with the worst post titles on the internet...

Anyways, here are some awesome parodies of Lady Gaga's 'Born This Way':

Many of you may have already seen Magneto perform this acoustic version of 'Born This Way' but what you, quite possibly, won't have seen is the full music video version...

Here is Weird Al Yankovic with the first song from his new album and your nightmare fuel for the rest of the week...

And finally a little something for all you Minecraft fans out there...

(I have not played Minecraft but I have become a Minecraft widow)

Monday Moning Blues

So this morning I awoke at the bright and early time of 7:00 in order to attend an interview... an interview, as it turns out, which is actually happening next Monday...

I think I need to listen to some awesome music... which I'm also going to share to all of you on this Monday morning. I hope that you all have a much better start to the day than myself.

Magneto Was Just Born This Way

First, let me admit that I have yet to watch X-Men: First Class (I was ill when I was originally meant to see it). Second, I absolutely love the X-Men, have done ever since I was a little girl and sat down to watch the cartoon with my dad. Third, as much as I hate to say it, I love 'Born this Way' by Lady Gaga.

Why the sudden need to confess my current lack in geekery and quite possible lapse in musical judgement? Because of this my dear interwebs...

This one song has filled me with an almost unstoppable desire to dance my way to the nearest cinema and watch the latest X-Men film (which I have heard from good sources is so much better than Last Stand and Wolverine). However, as my nearest cinema is currently a 30 minute drive from my house I have resisted and have instead decided to share this wonder with you. If you do decide to dance your way to the cinema, no matter the distance, I am declaring here and now that I cannot be held responsible.

Britain's Got Plumbers

And so another series of Britain's Got Talent has come and gone and the great British public has once again broken the dreams of a young child in favour of a previously unknown opera star. What, you may ask, has any of this got to do with geekery and nerd culture?

My answer is this... (skip to about 1:00)

Why did ITV consider guys dancing to Mario themes not good enough for the main show? They're obviously good dancers, and if I say so myself, have a fantastic taste in music.

If only Britain's Got Talent was as awesome as America's Got Talent who put these guys through to the semi-finals...

On The Other Hand...

I'm begging you Japan, please make a Doctor Who anime!

As this fan-made anime proves, the Doctor would make an awesome anime hero and you could feel free to add as many Japenese characters as you like afterall, he can travel anywhere he likes.

Until such a time when the world can experience a fully studio produced Doctor Who anime series feel free to wonder at this most fantabulous of fan creations.

Konniichiwa Blade-san

Well it seems that while I was away Marvel Studios continued with its goal to turn every one of its comics into anime series.

First of all we had X-Men,

Which follows our favourite band of superheroes plus an obligatory Joss Whedon created Japanese member.

And now we have Blade

Which follows our friendly neighbourhood half-vampire, day-walking vampire hunter... and a new obligatory Japanese girl.

Now, some thoughts on these... I have not watched the Wolverine or Iron Man animes (yet) but from what I have heard from friends and people on the internet they have not been overly brilliant. What about X-Men? I haven't heard much at all about it, but from what I can gather from the intro it looks very Shonen with Cyclops being inexplicably overly bishonen. Is this a good thing? I'll have to get back to you on that.

So, I ask you Marvel, is it really necessary to jump on the vampire band wagon by releasing a Blade anime?

While You Wait...

Enjoy this video courtesy of Miss Amanda Palmer and her fabulous husband Mr Neil Gaiman

I'm sorry...

Hello intenet, it's been a while since last we met.

As it turns out it's pretty hard to keep a blog going whilst completing a PGCE course, but fear not for I am returned to you now! So keep your eyes posted for new posts, articles and maybe if you're lucky the second part to my favourite animated films.

Until then...
